    Jesus Is Our Wisdom

Some days feel crowded before they even begin. Decisions come quickly. Conversations pull us in different directions. Thoughts race ahead of us. It is easy to move from moment to moment without ever noticing what God is quietly shaping within us.

Paul’s words in Colossians 4:2 to 6 land with surprising clarity. They read like a steady reminder to come back to what matters most. Pray. Stay awake to what God is doing. Keep gratitude close. These simple movements create space for wisdom to grow.

Paul even asks for prayer that he would speak about Jesus with clarity. That request holds a kind of strength. It reveals a heart that stays teachable. It shows us that wisdom grows in people who keep turning their attention toward Jesus.

Paul then widens the view. He calls the church to live wise among the people around them. That is a very grounded instruction. It brings wisdom into real conversations and real decisions. It touches the way we carry ourselves at home, at work, and in the small moments we often overlook.

Think about your week for a moment.

Where are the quiet openings that could hold more of Jesus than you first realized?

Paul finishes with one of the most compelling lines in the passage.

“Let your conversations be gracious and attractive.”

It is a simple sentence with real weight. It asks us to slow down long enough to choose words that bring life. It reminds us that wisdom is not hidden in complicated ideas. It is revealed in the way we speak to another person.

Grace softens the edges of a conversation. It gives room for honesty. It lets someone breathe. When our words carry that kind of tone, people notice. They feel it before they ever name it.

Wisdom grows in the places where prayer, gratitude, and awareness meet. It grows as we pay attention to Jesus in the ordinary flow of our days. It grows each time we choose a steady response over a rushed reaction. It grows when we allow God to shape the way we see the people in front of us.

Here is something worth carrying into the week ahead.

Where might Jesus be offering you His wisdom in the very places you have not slowed down to notice yet?

He is present in every season.

He guides with a patience that does not run out.

And as you stay close to Him, wisdom begins to rise in you in ways that quietly reshape the way you move through your world.
